Martin, age 6The Short Version

Born on December 12, 1972 in the small town of Qaqortok, Greenland. Migrated to Skive, Denmark at age 4 where he has lived for the main part of his life. Other habitats have included Nykøbing Falster, Viborg, Aarhus and recently Mijdrecht, Holland.

Known to be humorous and good-natured. High level of loyalty can be achieved through regular feeding. Commonly obeserved in the vicinity of an Amber, where, if feeling threatened, it becomes territorial and boasting

Other character traits inlcudes shyness, that sometimes gets mistakenly percieved by others as arrogance; eloquence in writing and great love of parmesan cheese.

Martin, aged 10Growing Up

Skills in numbers and math were detected early in the life of the Martin. With a father in accounting, he was sure to follow in the foot steps of his paternal ancestors and take up the calculator… it was either that or professional soccer player.

Early attempts to learn the mysteries of the football, proved that the Martin was probably not in possession of neither skills nor power of locomotion to aim for a career in professional soccer. Later in life the Martin discovered latent skills in and exercised basketball, table tennis and Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate instead.

The Age of Wonders

In 1985, when George Michael wasn’t yet gay and Tears for Fears wanted to Rule the World, the Martin was presented with his first computer – a Commodore 64. Many an afternoon was spent in the company of friends and Winter Games, Yie Ar Kung Fu and Mr. Robot. The Martin enjoyed tweeking the datasette (tape drive) with his mother’s sowing machine screw driver to make the games run smoothly. Later he himself invested in a Commodore 1541 floppy disk drive to expand his knowledge and joy of gaming.

Martin, age 16The C64 lasted until 1989 – middle highschool – where it lost a death match to the upcoming Commodore Amiga 500. Mario Bros. was exchanged for Superfrog, Empire for Bard’s Tale II and Pole Position for Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge. The times they were achanging. It was also in highschool that the Martin discovered the ability to sink a large ball through a nettet rim, not much larger, positioned approximately 3 meters above the ground. He found excitement in doing this repeatedly and eventually joined a community of like-minded ball-through-hoop shooters.

At age 18 the Martin went out into the Great Wide World and away from under his mother’s homemade cooking. The goal was clear: to get an education that would start a career in accounting… just like Dad. He brought with him the passion of computers and invested in a Zitech PC 386 with 4 MB ram and a 250MB hard drive. Huge machine in those days. As his skills and passion for computers grew, his cooking abilities deteriorated proportionatly with the gains in knowledge of economics and computers. Pasta, tuna and cocktail sausages became the main source of nutrition for quite a while. It was also around this time that the Martin found an interest in karate after being dragged to a training session by a classmate. The Martin gained 15-20 kilos by training karate and lifting weights in the local gym (5 of those might more accurately have been the result of discovering Beer).

Martin, age 22Adulthood

After finishing all educations the Martin found a job in a small accounting tribe. The chieftain of the tribe promised to provide for the Martin in regards to further education and financial benefits in return for his eternal loyalty. The Martin was hungry and hence agreed. Over the next 10-12 years the Martin honed his skills in accounting. The computer was consistantly exchanged for bigger and better versions and the Martin made his first attempt in homepage creation. The remnants of said homepage have unfortunately since been lost in the wide World Wide Web.

During those years the Martin also fathered a cub. Shorty, as she is called, saw the dawn of her new life in the year 2005, closely after the Martin’s graduation as Certified Accountant – the prestigeous high rank of the accounting tribe. The years 2004 and 2005 were years of great achievements, but also great changes – some good and some not so good.

The changes eventually led to the decision of changing hunting grounds, so in the year 2007 the Martin left his tribes and started looking for a new tribe. He had to go 816 km to the south… and a little to the right to find a new social tribe. This new tribe started with a Hollandish female, reacting to the name Amber. He really enjoyed the company of this new tribe and commuted often between the Land of Danes and the Land of Hollanders. The goal was to establish a headquarter for future searches for a occupational tribe.

In order to enhance his chances of finding a good tribe, the Martin decided to spend some time education himself on the topics of multi medias. He joined a temporary tribe that supplied him with knowledge and tools that hopefully would provide a wider range of tribe opportunities once he translocated to the home of his Dutch tribesmate.

The Martin of Today

The Martin has now left his homeland in pursuit of a career in a foreign country. The fight against bureaucracy is long and hard, but the Martin is convinced that he will conquer all the strange registrations that are needed in order to permanently change residence. He is still looking for a tribe to supply him with further education and practice in the multimedias or a tribe that could find use in his already aquired accounting experience.

And this is where we will leave the Martin. His future is for now uncertain, but we are hoping the best and sending him our best wishes.

Live long and prosper…
